The Critical Pathway to Insider Risk-Index (CPIR-I) is designed for use in multiple settings (e.g., government, corporate, or academic) to estimate the level of risk for an insider act posed by a member of an organization. The CPIR-I is structured to reflect the major components of the Critical Pathway to Insider Risk model developed by Shaw and colleagues (Lenzenweger & Shaw, 2022; Shaw, Fischer, & Rose, 2009; Shaw & Sellers, 2015). The CPIR-I yields an estimated risk score that helps in the understanding of the current state of a person and can be used as a guide to determine if a comprehensive or more in-depth assessment is appropriate. The CPIR-I is to be completed by a knowledgeable observer and requires 20 minutes or less. The CPIR-I is also suitable for research use.
