We are security professionals from the behavioral sciences dedicated to helping organizations prevent, detect, and manage risk from employees and other insiders. Our approach is guided by the Critical Pathway to Insider Risk (CPIR), which was developed by Dr. Eric Shaw and first published in 2005 as well as was described in detail in a 2015 article in Studies in Intelligence. Over the past 20 years, the Critical Pathway to Insider Risk (CPIR) framework has gained wide acceptance and use by other professionals focused on insider risk. In particular, Dr. Shaw's CPIR is the leading analytical framework used by psychologists and other counterintelligence and security professionals for understanding how insider risk evolves over time in organizations. Our name, IRG, is derived from the CPIR.
